The Collar Dress
This pattern may be the only pattern your daughter needs for several years! It is especially nice when she begins to outgrow smocking. You can still make pretty collars for her.

Tip: On the day of Ginger's Confirmation, she changed her mind about what she wanted to wear. Between 12:30, when I arrived home from church, and 5:00 when we had to leave again for her Confirmation service, I made her a white dress using cutwork linens for the collar, sleeve, and hemline. It took two hours, beginning to end. There was no hemming to do anywhere. As Ginger stood there, so proud in her new white dress, the only mistake I saw were blue washable marker dots that I had failed to remove when I made the buttonholes!
