How is this
pattern different from Baby Daygowns, Book I?
1. The
length....sizes newborn, infant, and large are 36” long....the
preemie pattern is 27” long
2.
The sides are flared slightly.....this is a perfect pattern
to use to create unique designs
3.
It contains two more sizes that are not in the Baby
Daygowns book.....sizes preemie and large
4.
The sleeves are different.....it includes a long puff
sleeve with more fullness and a short puff sleeve that is elbow length
Only $14 per pattern
Note:
The size guidelines were omitted from "A-Line Christening Gowns I"
They are as follows:
Newborn -- up to 12 lbs.
Infant -- 7 - 18 lbs
Large 18 - 22 lbs
If you have any doubt about which size to choose, opt for the bigger
size. The top part of the gown is going to rumple on the baby
because the baby will be held. If you make a larger size and and it is
too large on the baby, you can always overlap the buttons at the center
back.
The skirt is the pretty part.
As it drapes over someone's arms when they are holding the baby,
the skirt is the most visible part and the detail is pretty. That
is what everyone notices..
A-Line Christening Gowns II
Designs
for Baby Boys
A-Line Christening Gowns II includes
designs for baby boys (and girls, too, but the focus is on boys).
The A-line design has a back button closing. Sleeve variations
include a long straight sleeve, an elbow length puff sleeve, and a long
puff sleeve. Variations include a large Peter Pan-style collar
and a design suitable for monogramming. This pattern provides a
wonderful way to showcase unusual trims or hand or machine
embroidery. It may be made in a simple fashion to satisfy the
most discriminating fathers who declare "No lace on my son!" It may be
made with a somewhat conservative design using geometric laces or trims
or heavier fabrics such as linen, Heirloom Crepe, or Swiss flannel.
It may also be embellished in detail for boys or
girls. The nice thing about this pattern is the choice it
affords. The multi-sized pattern includes sizes preemie,
newborn, infant, and large for only $14 per pattern.
