Baby Isolette Shirts
According
to neonatal care nurses, the most important design feature of an
isolette shirt is that it not interfere with the monitoring
equipment. Having said that, they also stress the importance of
preemie clothes to the parents who have a tiny baby in a neonatal unit.
Bright-colored clothing with cute reminders of a happy childhood are
very encouraging to parents who visit their baby in the hospital, often
for weeks and months on end. The challenge for those of us who
sew these tiny garments is to add color and embellishment without doing
anything to harm the baby. The photographs below will give you
some ideas for using fabrics and trims to embellish isolette
shirts. Using bright fabrics and flat trims, as well as machine
or hand embroidery, brighten the tiny isolette shirts, delighting the
parents who visit daily. You are sure to come up with
embellishment ideas of your own. We would love for you to e-mail
photographs of your own creations to us.

E-mail us if you have any questions about these
variations or need more information.
